Navigating changes in your body and learning to embrace a new normal.
Your body has changed — stretched, grown, birthed, and nourished a human. It is natural to have complicated feelings about these changes.
Many women struggle with body image after childbirth. Your belly may still look pregnant. Your breasts may feel different. Stretch marks, scars, and weight changes can all affect how you see yourself.
Practice self-compassion. Your body is in a healing state, not a finished state. Give yourself time. Wear clothes that fit now, not clothes that fit before. Move your body in ways that feel good, not punishing.
If body image concerns are affecting your mood or daily life, talk to a therapist who specializes in perinatal mental health.
